Larchmont Carwash

Something has changed here. After many years of taking my (seven) cars there, and chalking up occasional frustrations to "that's just life," I'm done. They appear to have rebranded to now aggressively push their "club", where you pay in advance for multiple washes. Very aggressive and you have to say no repeatedly, and then it takes longer to get your "ticket" to pay (even worse than before, when they aggresssively pushed enhanced washing options). Various other things have changed. They seem to have some new machinery, which is fine except it ripped a roof rack off my truck (and they just threw it in the bed and didn't even say anything). They are also much slower than they used to be. Two stars rather than one because the vehicles do come out clean. But there are other less annoying (and destructive) car washes around here. I'll be going to one of those from now on.

All of the problems with this car wash stem from the fact that no employee here speaks English. Let's start in the beginning. I pull up to the car wash, roll my window down, and tell the attendant "there are dogs in the car I need to get out, please don't open the doors". He responds with "Okay Okay" and proceeds to open the back door to my car letting my dog out. I spend $65 on a full-service car wash, clean the mats and spray wax at the end. They did everything but, they forgot the spray wax. I was watching them. It's an entire procedure at the end of your car wash where they spray RainX polish all over the car and then wipe it off. They simply forgot to do it. I find who appears to be the head attendant and I mentioned to him that they forgot the wax and he simply could not comprehend what I was saying. I tried to walk over to the vehicle with him and rub the car illustrating that it had not been waxed, he grabbed a bottle of tire cleaner sprayed it on the area I was rubbing and pretended like that solved the problem. And there is simply nobody there that you can go to. They know enough English to have you select a price from the menu, and take your money. That's where it en

My car wash was actually very good but it took a very long time even with an automatic drive through. The actual vacuuming and cleaning afterwards took an additional 30 minutes and it was very expensive I felt for a drive-thru. Nothing really special and I had to ask them to come back to do a few things and I'm not usually that picky. Good selection in the gift and supply shop while you wait. Nice cashier and don't forget to tip the guys that dry your car.
